The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has a large research arm that tackles a wide variety of infrastructure modernization challenges as well as Department of Defense (DOD) applications. One of the research labs is in Hanover, NH, and we are hiring computer scientists, materials scientists and engineers, and other positions right now!
We will provide an overview of a variety of innovative research and development topics that we are currently executing in our research lab - the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Lab (CRREL). All topics discussed will show a variety of challenges that the DOD and USACE need to solve.
Applications which our team needs additional hires to accelerate our research include: artificial intelligence (AI) chips for smart decision making and auto-classification for DOD logistics applications, biology-based environmental sensing, wastewater treatment monitoring, and other uses; developing finite element models for predicting soil heaving and other applications; and other exciting project areas which require multi-disciplinary teams, from computer scientists to materials engineers to civil and mechanical engineers.
