The sociology major at UNH prepares you to succeed in an increasingly
diverse, global and technologically-driven world. It helps you
understand the complexities of social behavior and how social forces
shape and constrain people’s lives. The major promotes scientific
inquiry, digital literacy and cultural awareness. It helps you hone
creative thinking and written and verbal communication skills. Our
majors learn how to conduct research, analyze data, and perform
statistical analyses. These are skills that employers and graduate
schools seek and that set our students apart. Our graduates learn how to
lead organizations and solve complex problems both inside and outside
the workplace. Sociology majors go on to successful careers in
counseling and social services, healthcare, management, education,
marketing, social science research, criminal justice, law and
government.
