During the fall semester, I researched the impact of Hurricane Maria and Irma in Puerto Rico on the deaf and hard of hearing community. My goal was to compare the emergency preparedness of the United States with other countries like Japan during natural disasters for this group. I also researched what could be done to help our community be more prepared for natural disasters using a whole community approach.
