The Institute for Health Policy and Practice, at the University of New Hampshire with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services presents the Peer Workforce ECHO. The aim of this ECHO series is to cross-train the substance use and mental health peer support workforce across the state of New Hampshire. This ECHO series began its first cohort in February 2024 and will finish two cohorts by August 2024.

Presenter Bios: Ellen’s first encounter with the mental health system was at the age of 17. (1977) Her next encounter was during college. Despite significant health (Epilepsy)and mental health issues and a psychiatric hospitalization she managed to graduate from Lyndon State College in December of 1983. Ellen’s personal experience with mental illness, PTSD, and epilepsy guides and inspires her work as a Team Leader at a Peer Support Center. Ellen challenges us all to look beyond a person’s diagnosis and, as a certified WRAP facilitator and certified in Intentional Peer Support, she focuses on empowering those she works with to live lives filled with purpose and meaning. Ellen holds a degree in Behavior Sciences, with a focus on special education and lives in Berlin.
