Anita Collins will speak on honeybee genetics and breeding. Dr. Anita Collins is a retired US Department of Agriculture research geneticist and is a recognized authority on honey bee behavior and genetics. Her research involved cryopreservation of honey bee semen as a collaborator with USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Bee Research Lab in Beltsville, MD. In addition, Dr. Collins was the research leader at the Honey Bee Research Laboratory, ARS, USDA in Weslaco, TX in cooperation with the USDA Interagency Technical Working Group on the Africanized honey bee colony, its defense behavior and alarm communication.

We will also present 2020 Beekeeper of the Year and give the annual treasurers report.
