Part 3 of 4 in the Forest Carbon Webinar
Series
On June 24th, Steve Roberge, Extension Forestry Specialist, and Tim Fleury, Merrimack County Extension Forester, were joined by Mariko Yamasaki, Team Leader/Research Wildlife Biologist, U.S. Forest Service and Coeli Hoover, Research Ecologist, U.S. Forest Service for a one hour overview of the general principles of managing for wildlife habitat and forest carbon. Wildlife habitat and forest carbon management objectives are generally complementary, and involve decision making about desired landscape and stand level characteristics.
In this webinar, Mariko and Coeli reviewed stand/ area characteristics that shape these management decisions and discussed how those decisions influence the presence/ absence of stand features in managed/ unmanaged stands.
