The animal science major at UNH provides a strong foundation in animal nutrition, reproduction, genetics and physiology, preparing you for careers in animal agriculture or further studies in veterinary medicine or graduate school. You can choose from a wide array of electives, delving into topics ranging from animal health and management practices to agriculture and food policy. You can also choose a dairy management option within the major, where you'll learn all the fundamentals of running a dairy farm, from caring for the animals to managing the business end of the operation. In addition to core courses in animal science, including biology, animal health, nutrition, genetics and reproduction, you'll also have opportunities to learn agribusiness finance, personnel management and public relations.
