Evidence Based Balance & Strengthening ClassThis session will discuss the importance of balance and strength training to keep us active and strong and decrease fall risk as we age. Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance® (TJQMBB) is a research based program proven to increase strength, balance, and function. Participants who complete the TJQMBB workshops have 58% fewer falls and 75% fewer falls with injuries. Program developer, Dr. Fuzhong Li, also found a 67% reduction in falls for people with Parkinson’s disease. We will review the program components, research and participants will learn how to find a class close to them or how to become an Instructor in their communities.
