Tai Ji Quan: Moving for a Better Balance | Age of Champions 2022
From Trevor Massey
This session will discuss the importance of balance and strength training to keep us active and strong and decrease fall risk as we age. Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance® (TJQMBB) is a research based program proven to increase strength, balance, and function. Participants who complete the TJQMBB workshops have 58% fewer falls and 75% fewer falls with injuries. Program developer, Dr. Fuzhong Li, also found a 67% reduction in falls for people with Parkinson’s disease. We will review the program components, research and participants will learn how to find a class close to them or how to become an Instructor in their communities.Presenter: Dawna Pidgeon
