Engaging stakeholders (staff, volunteers, funders, etc) in data-driven decision-making can be difficult. Some stakeholders may not have the knowledge or interest needed to take time to absorb and reflect on data findings and the implication of those findings on their programs. This workshop introduces participants to the idea of “data parties.” Data parties consist of engaging methods to review evaluation data with key stakeholders and are effective in increasing understanding and utilization of findings for program improvement. This session will demonstrate a data party, using data from multiple studies of Extension programs. Participants will have the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned to their programs and develop and action plan. Having fun, engaging ways to share data and make data-driven decisions can help increase support for extension programs by making data more accessible and understandable.
