Dr. Caitlin Mills- Principle Investigator of ACC Lab
Lauren Flynn (Senior)- Double major in Psychology and Human Development & Family Studies
Catherine McGrath (Senior)- Psychology major and History minor
We (Catherine & Lauren) have spent almost an entire year dedicated towards the inception, data collection, and analyzation of this study. Together, we work as senior undergraduate researchers in the Affect, Cognition, & Computations Lab, headed by Dr. Caitlin Mills of the UNH psychology department.
Meeting as complete strangers, we teamed up to combine Catherine’s intrinsic interest in education with Lauren’s interest in creativity to, not only, study the link between boredom and creativity, but create a new friendship. The following talk summarizes the research of the first (out of two) experiments, titled: “Boring Ideas: Exploring Boredom as an Incubator to Creativity.”
Make sure to check out the longer version of our talk (including data from our second experiment), presented by Catherine, at the Honor’s Psychology Department George M. Haslerud URC!
